Indie J.

they/she

ChildBirth & Postpartum Doula

Indie is a full spectrum doula, serving families of all shapes and sizes throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Indie is a former teacher and child care specialist, and will soon graduate with their degree in Education and Disability services from the University of North Florida.

She is a dedicated disability and LGBTQ+ advocate and emphasizes in her work the need for access and accessibility in birth education and support. She has trained with Neurodivergent birth as well as Birthing Advocacy Doula Trainings to better serve her clients who may be seeking specialized support.

She is serving families in central Indiana, and spends the majority of her time as a doula serving families with postpartum support (including overnight visits) and during births. One of her specialties when it comes to customized care is optional additional meal prep and delivery services, which include nutritionally balanced meals and snacks designed to support postpartum healing and feed your whole family.

After attending the BIPOC Herbalism Conference in August of 2023, she is pursuing further education into holistic methods of supporting the whole-body wellness of her clients. She is a dedicated, inspiring, and grounding presence that would be a great addition to your birth team!

A Note From Indie:

Hello!

My name is Indie, and I have been a doula for three years. Before that, I was a drama teacher and playwright professionally, and still continue to work on projects with local theaters today!

I am about to graduate with my Bachelors in Disability Services from UNF, a degree which I completed alongside the requirements for my teaching license. Being disabled myself, I am committed to making my practice as inclusive and accessible as possible for all families, as physical ability should not be a barrier to safe and comprehensive care. This led me to the process of training as a doula through Birthing Advocacy Doula Trainings, and I have been incredibly passionate about birth work and reproductive justice ever since!

This year, I will celebrate my second summer in Indy. In my free time, I love watching movies with my husband, exploring the city with my dog, and training in my kitchen to Beat Bobby Flay.
